La expansión urbana del Cairo ha convertido a Giza en un suburbio metropolitano. Sin embargo, las pirámides se mantienen escoltadas por la gran megalópolis al oriente y el inmenso Sahara en su flanco occidental.

The urban expansion of Cairo has turned Giza into a metropolitan suburb. The great pyramid complex, however, maintains itself as a buffer between the massive megalopolis on its eastern flank, and the endless Sahara on its western side.
